Hey there!

So apparently it's been almost a month since I last updated this blog. Oops. Sometimes I trick myself into thinking I've posted something when I just haven't. But anyway, here you go.

As much as I'm hating the fact that winter has reared it's ugly head once again, I figured it at least gave me an opportunity to wear this jumper again, so I embraced the snow. Very briefly. Then I ran back inside into the warmth. Thank goodness for central heating.

I really hope this is the last snowfall we get, at least until Christmas! The novelty has most definitely worn off and I'd really love some warmer weather! Anyway, hopefully I'll be booking a holiday soon - when and where, I don't know, but that's not the point. I need a break!

Patterns and Pastels

So it snowed again, which is annoying, but at least it came at a time when I didn't particularly have to go anywhere. Just in time for my days off in fact. So good timing, weather. I've started doing that 50 facts about me thing doing the rounds on my other blog, here. I didn't know whether to do it here as well but thought it would be silly to have it in two places when I can just link to it instead. Anyway, I wore clothes today! Look!

I think I need a haircut. My layers have pretty much all grown out now. I don't know though, I kind of like it looking all unruly. I haven't been to the hairdressers since the summer either so I really probably should go!

Anyway, this skirt is another one I have trouble styling, but I think maybe I'm just not adventurous enough. I like how my outfit turned out anyway.

I've had this skirt for a while now but haven't really worn it properly because I had absolutely no idea how to style it. I have this issue with skater skirts - I love them, but don't really know if they suit me.

All the tops I have that I could tuck into the skirt just didn't look right, and what I eventually came up with (layering, my go to!) looks a little on the bulky side. Oh well. I quite like the colour clash anyway, makes it a little more interesting.

See ya later, snow

Last week was a complete write-off. Don't get me wrong, I love it when it snows, but I actually don't own any snow appropriate shoes, and at the moment I don't even have a proper waterproof jacket. So obviously, going outside wasn't really on my agenda, unless absolutely necessary.

However, we've had a lot of rain over the weekend and the snow has pretty much all thawed (apart from the dirty big piles of it people shoveled off their driveways - yuck), and I popped outside this morning before the rain that's been forecast had a chance to set in.

This is one of the dresses I picked up with my Christmas money. It's really light-weight, which is why I layered it with a t-shirt underneath (not that you can really see it here). I like that I can still wear summer dresses in the winter, I like to wear what I want whenever I want. Obviously, thick tights are a must though!

Happy December!

Hi guys. I hope everyone is enjoying December so far, I know I am. I'm waiting until my parents get back to put up the Christmas tree so that's going to wait until next week, but I have decorated my room and I of course have an advent calender. I love Christmas :)

I don't think I've worn this dress since last year. It's quite short at the back and the last time I wore it I went shopping and it was unexpectedly windy. This is not a dress to wear when it's windy!

Tights: Sainsburys
Coat: H&M
Boots: Dorothy Perkins
Necklace: Possibly Matalan

I still super love my coat, and I think it goes with this outfit pretty perfectly, which is nice as because the coat is patterned it's hard to pair with other patterned items of clothing. Anyway, I'll be back on Thursday (probably).

My go-to jeans

It's gone colder again, and it's a little bit foggy today. I'm really hoping it clears before I have to go to work because driving in fog is most definitely not my favourite thing.

I love these jeans so much. The colour is so perfect for this kind of year and they're much more interesting than plainer jeans. Plus they're really comfy and I just want to wear them all the time. I wish the hearts on my jumper were the same colour as my jeans so that they matched just a little bit more, but I can live with it.

See? It's cold.

Summer dresses in Winter

I super duper love this dress, but it's very light and airy and summery, but I like to buy clothes that I can wear whenever I want, and not be constricted by a certain season. So layering is awesome. Also it helps that it wasn't too nippy today!

I feel like I liked this outfit better in the mirror than I do in the photos, but I still think it works on the whole. The shoes don't exactly match really, but I have a habit of wearing shoes that don't go with the rest of my outfit. I'm surprisingly OK with it.

New coat!

I bought one of the coats I wanted that I mentioned here. It was half price so I figured it would be rude not to. So here's what it looks like! I love it.

I think I'm still going to want another coat that's a bit longer just for a bit of extra warmth when it gets colder - I have a feeling this winter's going to be really cold - but I am super happy with this one.

Also, this is what my curly hair looks like after I've slept on it, I think I still kind of like it even if the curls have gone a bit limp!

Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed Halloween, and hey, it's November now! So pinch, punch, first of the month and all that.

Layering

Top: New Look
Dress: H&M

It's still raining here in the UK and there's no end in sight, so I'm wearing my very summery dress as a skirt and layering up. I very rarely wear tops over dresses because I feel like a dress doesn't have a chance to shine if half of it is covered up (I know that sounds a bit ridiculous!). However I've decided that I don't want to limit my wardrobe, plus I'll take any excuse to wear this top again, I love it.

Anyway I'm seriously wishing for sunshine soon as I'd much rather take photos outside. The weather report doesn't make for cheerful reading though, I think we are supposed to have a month's amount of rainfall in 5 days. Joy.
