Little bits of joy

There's been quite a few bad-news days recently. So to cheer everyone up (mainly myself though) follow these links instead.

Apparently death metal music attracts great white sharks and if that's not the best sentence you've ever read then you're lying.

There's a dog in Seattle that catches the bus on it's own to get to the dog park. All the bus drivers know him and it's adorable.

Christmas is upon us and that means festive tunes. I Believe In Father Christmas by Greg Lake is probably my personal favourite but for real cheer factor I really like Sleigh Ride as well and Walk off the Earth's version is the best of the bunch (in my humble opinion).

I love the US version of The Office so was naturally distraught when it was taken off Netflix, but anyway this is one of my favourite Dwight moments.

And as if there weren't already enough animal goodness on this list, here's some dogs who have no concept of personal space.

That'll do I think.

Song of the Day: Can't Help Falling In Love With You - twenty one pilots cover. This is I think the only version of this song that I like. I don't know, there's just something about it, and this little video for it is cute. (Take my hand, take my whole life too/ 'Cause I can't help falling in love with you)

Currently reading: Still The Invisible Library but I read a good chunk of it last night so might get it finished today or tomorrow which is good because there's a tonne of books that I want to read at the moment.

Everybody's working for the weekend

After one of the most horrendous weeks at work I have ever experienced, I've never been so glad for Saturday to roll around. It's nice to have a day just for me, where I can do as much or as little as I like. So far today I've been writing, thinking about writing, listening to music, and eating leftover Chinese food. Bliss.

Also, I've been rounding up some lovely links for you. Because I'm just that nice.

Here's a video of Novak Djokovic and a ball boy during a rain delay at the French Open. It made me so happy.

If you're in the mood for a laugh, have a read through the top client stories entries on Clients From Hell. Thank me later.

I couldn't get to sleep the other night so was browsing Netflix and they have a newer version of Pingu on there, so I pressed play to see if it was as good as the original. I turned it off after about a minute because it's terrible, they ruined it. But, it did lead me to finding all the old-school episodes on YouTube. Honestly I don't think I've ever related to a fictional character as much as I relate to Pingu. He's just so desperate for attention, it's hilarious. So if you fancy a trip down memory lane, go here...

After a photo of Steven Spielberg on the set of Jurassic Park went viral, a lot of people on Facebook thought he actually killed a dinosaur. I do worry about humanity sometimes.

I really want this Goonies t-shirt from Truffle Shuffle:

Actually, there's a lot of t-shirts I want from Truffle Shuffle. Like this one and this one.

Right, I'm off to have an ice-cream. Happy weekend!

Linky-dinks

The internet is a glorious place. And here's some links to prove it.

I love this adorable song and video from Metro Trains Melbourne. I saw a clip of it on Rude(ish) Tube and had to hunt it down to watch the whole thing. So, so cute.

Game of Thrones related comic by SeeMikeDraw. And while you're there, you may as well look through his other comics, they're super funny.

Wanna see some adorable photos of animals with stuffed animals? Of course you do.

Also, funny test answers from smart-ass kids.

Here's some animals being publicly shamed for doing naughty things. Number 7 is my favourite.

Finally, another video. Jimmy Fallon and Paul Rudd lip sync battle on the Tonight Show.

Aaaaand I think that'll do.

Things for my imaginary house part 2

A British winner won the euromillions jackpot last night, and I'm really hoping it was me and Jack because honestly, 108 million pounds would really come in handy. I've just got to wait for Jack to come home from work and check his numbers. Fingers crossed (because that always works!).

I think if I was to win the lottery (it's bound to happen someday - the odds are definitely in my favour!), the first thing I'd want to buy is a house. I'd love to have my own house to decorate however I wanted; a place that I could really call my own. I've been bookmarking a few pieces of wall art that I would potentially want on my walls one day.

I love this Alice in Wonderland print via Not on the High Street. Plus it's true!

I love the Back to the Future films, so obviously I love this print by Wasted Rita. I just think it's nice and subtle, and it's pretty cool.

Gemma Correll makes great, funny art and I love this print, it works so well as a clock.

Finally, because I'm a massive nerd, this trio of Star Wars posters by Etsy seller timeanderson310. I think they're awesome.

You can see part one of Things for my imaginary house here.

A good article and a cute video

I read an article on the Huffington Post this week entitle 'Maybe you get bad customer service because you're a bad customer'. It's really well worth a read, and as a waitress who has experienced customers such as the one mentioned in the article, I can totally relate. There's an appropriate way to complain about something, and yelling at someone isn't the way to go.

Also, watch this adorable video of a little girl and her dad singing Tonight You Belong To Me. So cute.

Happy Weekend!

Monday Funday

Need cheering up on this Monday afternoon? Watch this advert.

This little girl is my hero, she's so enthusiastic.

I came across this LEGOgrapher photo series on Bored Panda by photographer Andrew Whyte. It's really clever, well worth a look.

In other news, over the weekend I bought a new TV for my room. A flatscreen one that takes up far less room than the old one - which, in fairness, was about a thousand years old (that might be a slight exaggeration). Today I've had a massive tidy and de-clutter in my room and I feel so much better for it. Tidy space, tidy mind.

I also added a lot more photos to my Flickr account, so if you want to see any photos I've taken, many of which that have never been featured on the blog, then please feel free to have a look at my photostream. And here's a preview :)
