Day Five: Faceless self-portrait

Just the one today.

It's weird that I was able to stand outside in the sunshine with just a cardigan for warmth when it was snowing yesterday. What is going on? Anyway, I have set up a side blog called Emma Wears Things which this photo also features in today. It's a personal style blog, I've wanted to do outfit posts for a while now but it didn't really seem to fit in with what Useless Ramblings is all about. So if you like style blogs, by all means come and take a look; if not, it's probably not for you. It's very, very new at the moment, so I'm still a bit awkward in front of the camera. Honestly I'm just trying to convince myself I don't look like a tit. It's fun though!

Stripes and Sunshine

The sun came out today, and I went OUTSIDE to take photos. It was all very exciting. I'm still a bit awkward but I reckon I'll get the hang of it.

This top is probably one of my favourites, mainly because of the stripes. If there's one thing you need to know about me, it's that I'm a sucker for stripey tops, I have so many. Anyway, I went shopping today and got a few new bits and bobs that I'm excited to wear at some point. When I was a bit younger, if I ever bought new clothes I would change into them the instant I got home and wear them for the rest of the day because I was that excited about them. Actually I still do that sometimes. I can't help it, I am a child.

Hey guys, am I doing this right?

Hi! I am Emma of Useless Ramblings and this is my brand new personal style blog! I've wanted to do an outfit post on my blog for a while now but that wasn't really what I started Useless Ramblings for, so I decided to take the plunge and make a separate space of the internet for outfits and suchlike. I'm excited! And also apprehensive and honestly I don't really know what I'm doing yet. I'm determined to have fun figuring it out though!

Day Four: Shoes

I'm not feeling too great today, the temperature outside has taken a dive (it was frigging snowing earlier) and all in all I'm just not feeling too inspired today. I eventually decided on shoes for my challenge, but I just feel a bit 'meh' about the photos today, which is a shame because I really loved yesterday's. Maybe tomorrow will bring me a better attitude!

This isn't my entire shoe-collection by the way, I just photographed my favourites and the ones I wear the most. I have a lot of shoes. The black pumps are my work shoes, and considering they're from Primark they're surprisingly comfortable. The peach coloured wedges are from Primark as well, and the rest are all New Look. I think most of my shoes are from New Look to be honest, they have such a pretty collection.


Weather depending, I may actually go outside tomorrow!

Maintenance

I'll be back later with my photo challenge, but this is just a quick one to say that I'm doing some maintenance on my blog so the layout might change a few times until I get it looking just how I want it. I thought it looked nice before but a bit plain maybe, so I'm trying to get it looking just right. Bear with me!

One: Matching recipe folder and notebook. I got these in WHSmith and loved the pattern, plus I'd been looking for a recipe folder/binder/organiser for ages.


Two: Emma Bridgewater address book that my parents got me for Christmas the year before last.

Four: A purse that I found yesterday in my room, I'd forgotten that I had it but I'm glad I found it, it's so pretty.


Five: I bought this dress from New Look a couple of weeks ago - I really liked the colours and the pattern. Can't wait until the weather's right for me to wear it!

It's been quite gloomy today so I've been playing around with the white-balance on my camera to brighten it up a bit, so my challenges are already making me learn things! Awesome.
